Zuber & Cie, a French Manufacture de Papier Peints et Tissus (French for: painted wallpaper and fabrics), was founded by Jean Zuber.  The headquarters has remained in Rixheim, France since the founding of the company in 1797.  The company now has showrooms in Paris, Nice, New York, Los Angeles, London and Dubai.

Zuber & Cie uses more than 100,000 woodblocks engraved in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Wallpapers include: Vues de l’Amérique du Nord, Eldorado, Hindoustan, les Guerres, d’Independence, and Isola Bella. Among wall coverings, Zuber also produces dado borders, friezes, and ceiling papers portraying things such as faux drapery, fringe and tassels.

It is reported that Jean Zuber’s wall coverings were so popular and respected that he received a Legion of Honor in 1834 by King Louis Philippe.

An antique copy of the Vues de l’Amérique du Nord, was installed in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House during John F. Kennedy’s presidency.
